What we do

Independent quote analysis and comparison. The homeowner submits any quotes they have received, and each is modelled honestly on the same basis: actual expected production for their roof, orientation and shading from real irradiance data, realistic degradation, honest electricity price assumptions rather than the inflated ones in the sales projection, and the true cost of the financing including dealer fees hidden in the cash price. The result is a like-for-like comparison with a plain verdict, including when the answer is that solar does not pay back at this quote or on this roof.

Homeowners considering rooftop solar, particularly in high-electricity-cost markets, who have received one or two quotes and cannot evaluate them.

The problem

Residential solar is sold door to door and by phone with wildly inflated savings projections, twenty-five year financing that costs more than the system, and quotes that cannot be compared because every installer uses different assumptions about production, degradation, electricity price inflation and financing.
